Summit Seltzer has been getting a lot of buzz - and rightfully so. It's the first spiked seltzer brewery and taproom on the East Coast. This means that they make the craft seltzer in-house, and as an added bonus they're all about 100 calories or less.

The pandemic has certainly slowed down the rapid fire openings we saw in 2019, but restaurants and retailers are still finding a way to make it work.

Lately I've been thinking about the expression, "Give 'til it hurts.' It's not generally a command I condone, given that it brings to my mind a nefarious pastor guilting his financially struggling flock into giving up their kids' school books for his wife's Christmas Cadillac.

A few years ago, there was a lot of talk about hard seltzer as a "fad." But the industry, which has increasingly distinguished itself from beer, has only continued to grow. The global hard seltzer market is already worth 4.5 billion dollars in 2020, and its predicted to be worth 14.5 billion dollars by 2027. For craft beer brands trying to diversify their audiences and stay competitive, seltzer is a safe bet for the foreseeable future.

Go to the grocery store...and you'll see a ton of different hard seltzers. They've really become popular over the last couple of years. Today, the very first craft seltzery in Charlotte is opening! Summit Seltzery has something for everyone. Summit Seltzery is open 7 days a week, but taking reservations for the first couple of weekends to help keep the crowds low and enforce social distancing. Reservations are booked for this weekend...but there are still some available next weekend.

A new kind of brewery has landed in the Queen City and it doesn't feature beer. It's one of those things where your dreams are actually coming true-Kristin Cagney said with a big smile on her face. This week, Cagney opens the doors to Summit Seltzery. It's the first of its kind business along the East Coast. The idea came to Cagney a couple of years ago and getting to this point has been a labor of love.

The wait for locally brewed spiked seltzer is over. Summit Seltzer Co. is now open in Wesley Heights across the street from Lucky Dog Bark & Brew.

Summit Seltzer hopes to carve out a niche in the fast-growing hard seltzer market.

Charlotte is getting something new and exciting this summer - a seltzery! It's basically like a brewery but for seltzer. Summit Seltzery, the Queen City's first seltzery taproom and one of only a few in the U.S., will open this summer on Thrift Road in Wesley Heights. Summit plans to offer 14 flavored hard seltzers and a non-alcoholic seltzer, all crafted in-house.
